About Rob
Rob is a Partner working in our Real Estate Department and Construction & Projects Department. He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from both a commercial conveyancing and commercial leasing perspective.
Rob has acted for a number of large-scale real estate developers and REITs in the management of their new and existing retail and office property portfolios. He advises both landlords and tenants in all aspects of commercial leasing.
Rob has particular experience in the real estate elements of health and social care. He advises on the acquisition, development and operation of primary care centres, having acted in a large number of projects across the Irish primary care market. This experience ranges from initial acquisition of development sites, structuring of sale and leaseback transactions, and ongoing asset management and letting arrangements for the primary care centres. He also advises Irish and international investors on the acquisition, development and operation of social housing projects, and on the practical and statutory framework in the Irish market.
Rob also has significant experience in respect of the real estate aspects of wind and solar farm transactions for both lender and developer clients. His experience has included advising domestic and international lenders on property aspects of the project financing of a number of separate wind farms in Ireland, and landowners involved in solar projects.
Rob obtained a Bachelor of Corporate Law and a Bachelor of Laws from NUI, Galway and completed his training contract with an international Dublin law firm. Prior to joining BHSM, Rob worked for a number of years with a Big 5 law firm in Dublin.

- Advising OCES Property Holdings Limited on retail lettings at the Clerys building on O’Connell Street, Dublin
- Acted for the owner of the Clerys Quarter in Dublin city in the sale of the former warehouse site to Premier Inn Hotels
- Acted for the purchaser of the former Kenilworth Motors site at Harolds Cross
- Assisting the seller of the Valley Healthcare portfolio on the property aspects of the sale
- Acting for a property investor in the acquisition of existing residential properties and development sites for social housing, and onward leasing to housing authorities and approved housing bodies
- Acting for Valley Healthcare Fund in the acquisition and asset management of a number of primary care centres
- Acting for an Irish investment fund in the acquisition of a number of primary care centres and development sites
- Acting for a large Irish developer in the acquisition and disposal of development sites
- Advising an investment fund on the management of their new and existing retail and office property portfolio
- Advising an Irish developer on the development of Kielys of Donnybrook
