About Leanne

Leanne Hill is a solicitor in the Employment Department at BHSM LLP. Leanne completed her training in a leading commercial law firm in Cork City and recently qualified as a solicitor in January 2025.

Leanne has experience advising employers and employees in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Having worked with both domestic and multinational companies, Education and Training Boards and hotel groups, Leanne has experience advising on a variety of workplace employment issues.

Leanne has experience in drafting submissions for employment law disputes that come before the Workplace Relations Commission and regularly advises employers and employees on redundancy processes and general employment grievances and disputes. Leanne is experienced in drafting employment contracts, policies and employee handbooks, together with settlement and termination agreements.

Recent Experience

  • Advising a number of clients in relation to employee grievances and general employment relationships which regularly involves coordinating mediations and drafting settlement agreements
  • Providing ongoing legal advice in relation to all aspects of employment law to a private healthcare organisation including conducting disciplinary processes and investigations and managing employee mediations
  • Represented a client before the Workplace Relations Commission in relation to discrimination claims brought by a complainant on one of the protected grounds
  • Advising clients on fair procedures in relation to redundancies, including analysis of selection criteria and navigating the employee consultation process
  • Advised and drafted employment contracts together with the requisite policies and procedures for numerous companies, to include international companies expanding their operations in Ireland
  • Advising employers in relation to claims under the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2015 (as amended), the Unfair Dismissals Acts 1977 (as amended), and the Industrial Relations Act 1990 (as amended)
