About John

John is a Partner in our Commercial Real Estate Department. John has over 30 years’ experience in commercial property matters, including: large scale acquisitions, site assembly and disposal acting for developers and investors and for both landlord and tenants in relation to commercial leases.

John advises clients on a full range of construction related agreements, including building contracts; professional team appointment contracts; collateral warranties; bonds; project supervisor appointments; sub-contracts.

John obtained a Bachelor in Laws (LL.B) from Trinity College, Dublin in 1987 and a postgraduate Diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration (Dip Construct Law) in 2008.

Recent Experience

  • Acting for an Irish developer that is working in conjunction with a number of different AHBs to source suitable sites for development, obtaining planning permission for a social and affordable housing development and completing the development of the site on behalf of the AHB
  • Acting for an investment fund in the acquisition of large newly completed office development in Dublin
  • Acting for an investment fund in the acquisition of a substantial newly constructed hotel development in Dublin
  • Acting for an investment fund in the purchase and lease-back of a substantial logistics development in the greater Dublin area
  • Acting for an Irish property investor in the acquisition of a regional shopping centre
  • Advising an investment fund on the management and leasing if its new and existing commercial property portfolio
