BHSM advises in relation to appointment of Liquidator to Belgard Windows Limited

BHSM recently acted in relation to the appointment of Tom Murray of Friel Stafford as Provisional Liquidator, and subsequently, Liquidator to Belgard Windows Limited (“the Company”).

The Company which sold and supplied windows in the Leinster area for close to thirty years was formally wound up by the High Court on 13th November 2023. Like many companies, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing costs had a detrimental impact on the Company’s business which ultimately gave rise to it becoming insolvent.

At BHSM, we have extensive experience in dealing with court liquidations, to include applications to appoint provisional liquidators where appropriate.

Company directors must always bear in mind their statutory obligations to wind up insolvent companies in a timely manner and advice should be sought by company directors in terms of winding up an insolvent company without delay.

In terms of appointing a provisional liquidator, this option can be a valuable tool to companies in seeking to recover monies and to ensure the preservation of company assets for a company’s creditors during a period when the company is insolvent and has committed itself to winding up.
